Team Lemah proved their ability after emerging as champions of the Johor Esukan Festival (JEF22) Chapter 1 in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competition in Johor Bahru last weekend.
The success allowed them to bring home a prize of RM1,500 in addition to winning tickets to advance to the grand final competition held at Arena Larkin, Johor, this September.
The victory also cured the disappointment of Team Lemah, who previously failed to qualify for MPL MY season nine after losing to MAB Esports last February.
The team leader of Team Lemah, Muhyiddin Ahmad Lutfi, said the success of defeating Lunatix Origins 2-1 in the competition last Saturday indirectly revived their confidence in addition to achieving the set target.
"The obstacle to emerge as champion is certainly not easy because we know the capabilities of the Lunatix team. They are indeed a strong team," said Muhyiddin, who is a student of the Communication and Media Studies department at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), in a statement issued by the organizers, the Group Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ) through its subsidiary, Sports Johor Sdn Bhd (SJSB).
Commenting on the next target, Muhyiddin said they won the title of champion in the grand final even though he knew it was not easy to achieve.
Apart from Muhyiddin, the team established last year also included Ikmal Hakimy Azemi, Ammar Asyraf Abd Rahman, Izat Syazmil Shokri, Luqman Hakim Noor Bakri, Azim Suhaimi, and Amin Nazri.
Team Lunatix emerged as champions and took home RM800 while Team Apple won RM500 after coming in third place.
Meanwhile, for the FIFA 22 Pro Club game, the title of champion went to XCGF Xforce (RM3,000), while Angkatsuki XXX was runner-up (RM1,600) and Fesqilla VFC in third place (RM1,000).
The DBD Project team took home RM1,500 after emerging as the PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile champion, while Dingos RX was runner-up (RM800), followed by Dingoz Golden (RM500) and Farang Elementus finishing fourth (RM200).
