Matt Brittain and Jennifer Choi Triumph in CLaS Amateur Series Johor 2023

Participants in the CLaS Amateur Series Johor 2023 demonstrated extraordinary skill and tenacity. We would like to congratulate Matt Brittain in the men's category and Jennifer Choi in the women's category for their exceptional performances throughout the series in the Overall General Classification, which earned them the prestigious Yellow Jersey.

With incredible uphill skill, Mohammad Fahem Razen won the Polka Dot Jersey in the Men's category, raising the stakes for the title of King of the Mountain. Jennifer Choi, the Women's category winner, deservedly received the Polka Dot Jersey for her outstanding climbing abilities.

William Mitchell, a young rider whose passion and drive energised the CLaS Amateur Series, wins the Best Young Rider award, represented by the Green Jersey.

The Best Sprinter title, symbolized by the Pink Iskandar Investment Berhad Jersey, is given to Matt Brittain in the men's division and Valencia Tan in the women's division in recognition of their quickness and agility. They distinguished themselves as real sprinting champions with their quick and cunning actions on the track.

These outcomes showcase the diversity of talent and the amazing friendship that characterize the cycling community in addition to reflecting the competitive spirit of the CLaS Amateur Series Johor.

MLBB team Indonesian Champion Johor All Stars Esports Championship 2023

There is no doubt that the 2023 Johor All Star Esports Championship which took place at Plaza Angsana, Johor Bahru, has received an extraordinary response from fans and players of Mobile Legend: Bang Bang (MLBB).

This event is a warm-up before advancing to the international league cup that will arrive soon. So this event can witness fierce competition consisting of eight invited teams and four qualifying teams.

Meanwhile, representatives from neighboring Indonesia, Alter Ego, have won the title of champion in the Johor All Star Esport Championship 2023. Although the final match was very intense and full of tension, they managed to defeat the Todak team from Malaysia with a score of 3-2.

"We are saddened by the defeat, because we are confident that we are capable of winning. But, we are also proud to have been given the opportunity to advance to the final." said Todak team player, Cikugais.

However, congratulations to one of Alter Ego's team members, AE Pai, who was named the Most Valuable Player throughout the event. All at once, the Todak MY team won the 1st runner-up position, while the Homebois team took third place.

The string from the success of L’Étape Malaysia by Tour De France 2022, proudly announced L’Étape Malaysia is now known as L’Étape Johor by Tour De France which will be held on 8 July 2023 in Desaru, Johor.

To open the curtain on this event, the Launching Ceremony and Press Conference of L’Étape Johor 2023 by Tour De France was held on 10 May 2023 at Velodrom Johor, Iskandar Puteri.

The ceremony was officiated by Yang Berhormat Tuan Mohd Hairi bin Mad Shah, Chairman of the Johor State Youth, Sports, Entrepreneur Development, Cooperative and Human Resources Committee as the official representative of Yang Amat Berhormat Menteri Besar Johor accompanied by Yang Berhormat Dato' Lukman bin Abu Bakar, Group Chief Executive Officer of Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd (KPRJ) as co-organiser of L’Étape Johor 2023.

Dubbed the "World's Leading Amateur Cycling Event", L'Étape Johor is the only 'cyclosportive' series that gives amateur riders the pedaling experience of the Tour De France race.

The Johor International Boxing Championship 2022 is one of the year's most significant international boxing events, set to take place in Arena Larkin, Johor, Malaysia.

This highly anticipated event featured the country's boxer, Farkhan Haron, that continues to prove his ability after winning the new champion title for the Bridgerweight class of the World Boxing Council (WBC) Asia after defeating his opponent from Turkiye, Yousof Mohammadiosmanvandi.

He won the action with 96-94, 96-96, and 95-95 points due to the calculations made by three experienced judges. This success allowed Farkhan to extend his winning record to 12-0, a pretty outstanding achievement.

Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor Sdn Bhd  (“KPRJ”) through Sports Johor Sdn Bhd (“SJSB”) has organized KPRJ Johor E-Sports Festival 2022 (Grand Final) on 21 October 2022 until 23 October 2022 at the Educity Sports Complex, Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

This festival was inaugurated by the Yang Berhormat Tan Sri Dato' Dr. Haji Azmi bin Rohani, State Secretary of Johor.

Also present were Tuan Haji Lukman bin Abu Bakar, Chief Executive Officer of KPRJ, Yang Berhormat Dato' Haji Mohd Haffiz bin Haji Ahmad, Mayor of Iskandar Puteri City Council, Yang Berhormat Dato' Haji Mohd Noorazam bin Dato' Haji Osman, Mayor of City Council Johor Bahru, Yang Berhormat Dato' Asman Shah bin Abd Rahman, Mayor of Pasir Gudang City Council, Mr. Raja Fouzeel Akmal bin Raja Zainal, General Manager of Sports Johor Sdn Bhd and Mr. Mohammad Nazrul bin Abd Rahim, President of Johor Bahru Esports Association (JBEA).

This tournament has involved three game categories: Mobile Legend Bang-Bang (MLBB), 'Player UnknownsBattle Backgrounds' (PUBG), and Fifa Pro Club 2022.

The Malaysian cycling scene gained a massive win in prominence and credibility following the unforgettable debut of L’Étape Malaysia, dubbed “The World’s Greatest Amateur Cycling Event” on June 4 in picturesque Desaru Coast.

The successful series, which has been organized in over 20 countries including France, China, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil and Australia has now successfully made its way to Malaysian shores which saw the participation of 4,700 participants.

L’Étape participants certainly felt the aura of a Tour de France rider as they experienced the scenic backdrop of Desaru Coast with its beautiful landscape, smooth flat roads as well as the Speed Zones.

Muhammad Elmi Jumari was crowned the men’s champion in the 140KM individual category with a time of 3:11:11, while Yeong Zhen Yi crossed the line as champion in the women’s 140KM individual category with a time of 3:14:29. Elmi was surprised with his victory, as he had took part only to help his friend.

L’Étape Malaysia co-organizer MUSE Group Asia and Sports Johor Sdn Bhd was thrilled with the success of this debut event.

“We had generated RM13 million from this event, which is a testament to the hard work all parties involved had put in to make this successful. L’ÉtapeMalaysia also marks the start of more sporting events to be held in Johor in the coming months,”

Avid cyclists in Malaysia can finally get their chance to experience what it’s like to be in a Tour de France with the first-ever L’Étape Malaysia scheduled to be held on 4 June 2022, less than three months away! 

Dubbed “The World’s Greatest Amateur Cycling Event”, L’Étape by Tour de France is the only cyclosportive series that gives amateur cyclists the opportunity to truly live the Tour de France experience where they will race like a Tour de France champion and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere and passion with other cyclists. The series has been organised in more than 20 countries such as France, China, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and now in Malaysia.

L’Étape Malaysia is organised by MUSE Group Asia and Sports Johor Sdn. Bhd. with main partners including Malaysia Airlines, Desaru Coast, aminoVITAL, Chek Hup,  Johor Sports Council, and Buletin FM. It will be an iconic event for cycling enthusiasts as it will challenge them to cycle like a pro with two route options, 140km and 60km. There will be five categories for both distances: Individual Men, Individual Women, Men’s Team (six per team), Women’s Team (6 per team), and Mixed Team (6 per team with at least 1 woman).

“By hosting L’Étape Malaysia in our State, we also hope to elevate Johor tourism sector to achieve the premium reputation it deserves; to place as well as reinforce it on the global map. Events like this help to introduce our exceptional State to local and international visitors. We want the participants of L’Étape Malaysia to not only come here to cycle but also experience Johor’s iconic culture, places of interest and cuisine”, said Datuk Onn Hafiz Bin Dato' Ghazi, Menteri Besar Johor

He continued, “all in all, I want L'Étape Malaysia to show the world that Johor is a world-class destination, whether in terms of infrastructure, events and human capital. We are more than suited and capable of organising more events of a global standard. You can be sure that this is something the Johor State Government under my leadership will be working on in the future.”
